What's New in Tab Space
Release candidates and published releases of Tab Space for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Safari remains built in; Chrome, Edge, and Firefox use the companion extensions introduced in 4.0.
Version 4.2 for Mac — Release Candidate
- Rebuild the Safari extension to make saving, restoring, dashboard updates, and the tab switcher more reliable.
- Bring the correct Safari window to the front when switching to a tab in another window.
- Keep a toolbar fallback available when the background helper cannot be reached.
Version 4.1.2 for Mac
- Close tabs from the switcher with Command-W, without saving them first.
- Select several tabs with Shift and the arrow keys, or Command-click, then save, close, or copy them together.
- Close every duplicate tab at once with Command-D, keeping the copy you are looking at.
- Add tabs to a session you already saved with Shift-Command-A, instead of always creating a new one.
- Copy links from the switcher with Shift-Command-C.
- Show the tabs you return to most at the top of the switcher, and make Shift-Command-S save what your search found.
- Press Command-/ in the switcher for the full list of shortcuts.
- Let you turn off opening the dashboard after saving.
- Keep the background helper current when Tab Space updates, and say a tab is already saved instead of reporting an error.
Version 1.1 for iPhone & iPad
- Share a single tab or an entire saved session from your iPhone or iPad.
- Choose Markdown or plain text when you share a session.
- Create an unlisted mytab.space link for a saved session, with an expiry date, and revoke it at any time.
- Add the Tab Space website to Settings, and fix minor issues.
Version 4.1.1 for Mac
- Add a four-step setup guide that covers enabling the Safari extension, granting website access, saving a first session, and trying the tab switcher.
- Show clearly when the background helper still needs approval in Login Items.
- Adjust the Free session allowance.
Version 4.1 for Mac
- Add the Browser Tab Switcher: press Option-Tab anywhere on your Mac to search every open tab and every tab you saved before, then jump straight to it.
- Search saved sessions in the switcher on every plan, so a tab closed weeks ago is as easy to reach as one that is still open.
- Save from the switcher: Command-S saves and closes the selected tab, Shift-Command-S clears every open window, and holding Option saves without closing.
- Show Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox tabs in the switcher with Pro.
- Let you change the switcher shortcut or hide its menu bar icon in Tab Space settings.
Version 4.0 for Mac
- Tab Space for Mac becomes a free download with all core features.
- Add permanent Plus as a one-time purchase for unlimited sessions and all core features.
- People who bought the Mac app before 4.0 automatically receive permanent Plus at no charge.
- Add optional AI organizing to name sessions, recommend tags, and split mixed tabs by topic. Free and Plus include five AI requests per week; Pro removes the limit.
- Add Pro multi-browser support in beta for Safari, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox 121 or later on Mac.
- Pro includes unlimited AI organizing, multi-browser support, and future Pro features, with a seven-day annual trial.
- Existing sessions are never deleted or hidden when the Free limit is reached.
